Heidi Kettenring graduated from Northwestern University in 1995 where she earned a degree in theatre and musical theatre. In the beginning, Heidi wanted to major in radio, television, and film. She gives the credit for her initial goal to her father, who was president of a television station Nashville, TN where she grew up. But now she truly believes in live theatre. After graduating she performed with Healthworks Theatre for 2 years before moving onto the Ramada Wagon Wheel Dinner Theatre where she starred as Guinivere in Camelot and Anna in The King and I. Her next big role was in 1997 when she replaced the actress in The Pajama Game. Her first performance was to a sold-out crowd in the newly opened Symphony Center. Other shows she has been seen in since include: Carousel, Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Heidi is currently starring as Nessarose in the Chicago production of Wicked.
